A Renewed Hope
Helping Darjeeling Hope Spastic Society Special School to get back on their feet
Educational Program
A hope to be more accessible
This project aims to help the Darjeeling Hope Spastic Society Special School, which is currently facing a lot of issues, like being underfunded and understaffed. We are working with them to help them get back on their feet and provide the best education possible for children with special needs.
The Problems
Education is a birth right, regardless of who you are
- Small usable area in the building
- Inability to provide students with free transport
- Underfunding, leading to lower quality of life of students
- Understaffed, leading to high pressure on the current staff available
- Inability to provide students with free meals
- Lack of fund for training new teacher recruits
What we envision
Here are what we aim to achieve with this initiative
- Better funding for helping students
- Training and recruitment of more staff
- New building for better and higher accomodation of students
- Introduction of Digital Education
- Free transport for students
- Funding for new equipments
- Quality meals for every child
Where and How
Here are our plans on making this a reality
Location
Who is going to be helped, and where are they located?
- Darjeeling Hope Spastics Society has been operating for more than 30 years
- Currently located in Lal Dhiki in a building of Brahmo Samaj, which is more than 150 years old
- We plan to move them ASAP to a better location near the current location for better accomodation
Implementation
How we plan to implement this initiative, providing education and work opportunities
- Fundraising through making awareness
- Orientation Programs by Psychologists and Doctors about Autism, Motor Syndromes, etc.
- Making dispersed training centres across Darjeeling technically guided by Hope, funded by Advaita
- Make Hope able to have alternative steady earnings, with things like Teacher's Training Programs
